Pelts and Wool

Careful livestock selection, handling, processing and grading means that Crusader Meats is able to produce quality pelts and wool that have international manufacturers throughout Asia, China and Europe demanding the LANZ brand.

Crusader Meats is careful to only select the finest wool on pelts for its salted selections, which are used for fine rugs and footwear. Optimum wool length and style, wool colour and pelt quality are prerequisites for this selection.

The processing of pickled and wet blue pelts is stringently controlled. Particular care is taken throughout the whole process to ensure a well presented pelt with minimal defects. Grading and packing is in accordance with New Zealand and international standards which ensures our pelts are sought after by top manufacturers of garments and accessories.

Slipe wool is graded and packed in accordance with New Zealand and international grading standards. Strict adherence to colour, wool style, length and fibre diameter guidelines ensures LANZ wool is well regarded and respected in the garment and carpet industries.

All processing is carried out by our state of the art affiliated fellmongery.
